Role overview
In the role of Inclusive Education Adviser, you will support the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MOEST) and the National Center for Educational Development. You will provide technical support in drafting teacher training curricula and developing
teacher training manuals, in close coordination with the training and human resource division. Besides this, you will develop Inclusive Education (IE) learning materials for teachers and professionals and facilitate training sessions with a specific focus
on Inclusive Education. Designing and piloting documents and new approaches of professional development for the teachers in the teachers’ training that fit the context of the Federalization system on the provincial level. The Inclusive Education Adviser will
demonstrate and provide technical guidance on how to address individual needs from the perspective of Inclusive Education.

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential qualifications:

  • University degree in Education, at least 5 years’ experience working with multi-level stakeholders particularly in a governmental environment;
  • Strong background in coordinating government agencies, development partners and civil society organizations;
  • Experience in conducting education policy research, particularly on equity in education;
  • Strong background in building capacity of staff, particularly government;
  • Background in Programme and policy implementation and monitoring;
  • Strong background in writing policy briefs and reports;
  • Knowledge and understanding of international inclusive education practice.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience with practical and creative solutions to deliver results in organizations with minimal resources;
  • Understanding of School Sector Development Plan (SSDP)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Education in Federalism
  • Knowledge and understanding of international gender.

Besides these skills, you need to be openminded, respectful, resilient, and adaptive to new situations. It is important that you can facilitate positive change, build sustainable working relationships, and are willing to seek and share knowledge.

VSO will cover and support you in all preparations: training, visa, work permit, registration in-country, flights, vaccinations, anti-malarial treatment, PEP treatment, medical and security clearance. In-country VSO will provide induction and support in placement,
arrange secure accommodation (often shared with another VSO professional), full medical insurance (including repatriation cover), medical indemnity insurance, work-related travel costs and a living allowance which will enable you to live a basic but healthy
lifestyle, but which is not sufficient to cover ongoing commitments at home.
